Trump plans to remove regulations on air pollution. We can ensure that local industry does not take this opportunity to increase pollution.
Santa Barbara County doesn’t meet state ozone standards and so is required to have a plan for reducing ozone pollution. Given that the very need to regulate air pollution is being called into question, the Santa Barbara County APCD should be talking about whether there is MORE we can do locally to reduce ozone pollution, not less.
Urge the APCD Board to keep and implement the 2016 Ozone Plan they unanimously adopted on October 20, 2016, and to consider strengthening the plan. Suggest they readdress the New Source Review Standards adopted in August 2016, which currently allow 5 times more pollution than Ventura County.
