Psychological Insights for a Changing World

The first Gathering of the Better World Series will be held on Thursday, March 16 from 6:00 - 9:00PMand will deep dive into what needs to be known about the psychology of sustainability. We’ll hear from Renee Lertzman, PhD — an internationally recognized thought leader and adviser —  about how understanding the psychology of sustainability can amplify, accelerate and leverage our efforts to engage far greater numbers of people for a sustainable future. Do our current approaches undermine our efforts? Are we missing opportunities?

Beyond focusing on positive solutions, Dr. Renee Lertzman argues we need to practice radical empathy with all who we seek to engage. To innovate and be most effective, all aspects of how we communicate, talk about, market and engage with diverse and even polarized communities must be impacted.

This event kicks of the Better World Series -- an ongoing project that gathers, inspires and activates changemakers for the purpose of building a better world. Starting now until December, the Series will be comprised of 5 different “Waves”, or themes, which address a timely and relevant topic. This Wave's theme is Environmental Psychology and is focused on tearing down feelings of incapability to replace them with inspiring messages of action. How we communicate environmental messages should incorporate positive storytelling and a sincere focus on what’s working.
