Protect the SYHS PTSA

A special election has been called for the Santa Ynez High School's Parent Teacher Student Association(PTSA). Voting will be on Tuesday, May 30th, at 6 PM in the Library at the High School. A Zoom link will be available for remote voting. All members of the PTSA are encouraged to vote. The direction of the PTSA at the High School depends on it.

The current executive board is the most diverse in the school's history and includes the county Teacher of the Year. For the first time in 32 years, the PTSA won the National Diversity Equity and Inclusion Award for exceptional efforts to make every child feel included and for its many new programs. These programs include:

  • The first Black History celebration at the High School.
  • Added more food and protein from all cultures for food for finals.
  • Teacher appreciation to include all staff, kitchen and maintenance
  • Affordable school spiritwear
  • Added more Scholarships for seniors and clubs
  • Donations of  fender musical instruments to the jazz band translation at their PTSA meetings
  • New bilingual website www.syhsptsa.com

The positions being voted on are President, Secretary, Vice President, and Treasurer.
