Santa Barbara Standing Rock Coalition is hosting this Prayer Gathering for Standing Rock, in solidarity with Native Nations Rise events on March 10, 2017, in Washington DC, Los Angeles, and other cities. Many cities will be having marches and rallies, which we will be grounding in prayer, the strongest tool in this peaceful movement to protect Mother Earth and all it's inhabitants. Barbareño Band of Chumash Indians (BBCI) members and elders will welcome the community to join with them as they share about their people and connection with the land we live on. We will be meeting for the purpose of praying together, sending love to the Lakota ("Sioux") Nation and fundraising for the legal defense of the Water Protectors in Standing Rock.

From 6:30pm to 7:30pm we will take the opportunity to gather and share together in connection and community with the Barbareño Band of Chumash Indians and local supporters.

The prayer gathering will be in the main sanctuary of Unity of Santa Barbara, starting at 7:30pm and going until approximately 9pm. There will, of course, be gathering and sharing afterwards.

All are welcome, free admission, offerings are accepted and encouraged. 

Monetary donations will go to benefit the Lakota Law Project to help fund the legal defense of Chase Iron Eyes and the other Water Protectors. Info and donations can be sent directly
